Thomas Coffey Bio

Thomas Coffey is the founder of www.TampaGuitarLessons.com and www.SarasotaGuitarTeacher.com   He is the Director of Education for The Tampa Bay Guitar Society and has more than thirty-nine years experience teaching Classical and Acoustic Guitar privately and at the University level. 

His students have won prizes in many international guitar competitions including the  highly competitive  Guitar Foundation of America and Christopher Parkening Competitions and have been accepted to such renowned Classical Guitar Universities as The Berklee School of Music, Florida State University, The University of Southern California, and The Julliard School of Music.

He regularly teaches children from the age of 6, adult beginners, amateur guitar players, and professional guitarists.  He specializes in getting amateurs to play from the very first lesson and creating regular break-throughs for guitarists who feel they are not progressing as quickly as they would like.

He has experience teaching many genres of music including Classical, Acoustic Fingerstyle, Spanish, Country, Christian, Gospel, Childrens's Music. Classic Rock, Singer/Songwriter, and Healing Music.
